Neoalsomitra sarcophylla

Neoalsomitra sarcophylla, also known as the "Himalayan Cucumber" or "Nepalese Cucumber," is a unique climbing vine plant that belongs to the Cucurbitaceae family. It is native to the Himalayan region, including Nepal and Bhutan, where it grows in tropical and subtropical forests at elevations of up to 2000 meters.

The plant has large, heart-shaped leaves that can grow up to 30cm in length and 25cm in width. The leaves are deep green and have prominent veins that run through them. Neoalsomitra sarcophylla is a dioecious plant, which means that male and female flowers grow on separate plants. The male flowers are small and yellow, while the female flowers are larger and green with long, slender, curved tendrils that resemble a snake.

Neoalsomitra sarcophylla is a vigorous climber that can grow up to 10 meters long if given enough support. It is often grown as an ornamental plant in gardens or as a houseplant. The plant's unique, snake-like tendrils and heart-shaped leaves make it an interesting and attractive addition to any collection.
