Hoya carnosa, also known as the wax plant, is a tropical evergreen vine native to India and Southeast Asia. Its thick, waxy leaves are dark green and oval-shaped with a leathery texture. The flowers are star-shaped and waxy, ranging in color from white to pink. Watering should be done when the soil is dry to the touch. It prefers bright indirect light but can tolerate some direct sun. A well-draining potting soil mix is best for this plant. Hoya carnosa grows in a vining habit and can reach up to 10 feet in length if given enough support. Pruning is recommended to keep it at a manageable size and encourage more blooms.
