Rhipsalis prismatica
4 inch pot
Rhipsalis prismatica is an epiphytic cactus native to Brazil and other parts of South America. It is commonly known as the Prismatic Chain Cactus for its unique, clustered form. Its stems are up to two feet long and have many three-angled, green segments with white spines. The stems are joined together by small, white flowers that bloom in the spring and summer. When taking care of Rhipsalis prismatica, water it deeply but infrequently, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. It does best in bright, indirect light, but can tolerate some shade. Use a well-draining potting soil, such as a cactus mix, and be sure to choose a pot with drainage holes. Rhipsalis prismatica is a slow-growing, evergreen cactus with a sprawling habit, making it a great choice for hanging baskets or trailing over the edges of a pot. Its unique, clustered form makes it a great addition to any cacti collection.
