Tillandsia schiedeana minor, or Schiede's air plant, is an evergreen, epiphytic perennial native to Mexico, Guatemala and Belize. It has long, thin, gray-green leaves and small, pale blue blooms that appear year-round. The leaves have a distinctive pattern of scales and can grow up to 10 inches long. The flowers are tiny, measuring only 1/4 of an inch and are usually white or pale blue in color.
Water and lighting care for Tillandsia schiedeana minor is easy. It prefers bright, indirect light and should be soaked in room temperature water for approximately 15 minutes once a week. They do not need soil and can be potted in a container of gravel or sand. Tillandsia schiedeana minor forms rosettes and can be mounted on wood or hung in a bright location.
