Jade
Jade, also known as Crassula ovata, is a beautiful and easy-to-care-for succulent that is native to South Africa. This plant is commonly found in dry, rocky environments, and is well-suited to indoor growing.
Jade has thick, oval-shaped leaves that are a beautiful shade of green, with a slight tint of blue or gray. The leaves are often tinged with red on the edges, and may develop a pinkish-red hue when exposed to bright light. The plant may also produce small, star-shaped white or pink flowers, but these are not the main attraction of the plant.
Jade is a slow-growing plant that can eventually reach a height of 3 feet, but is often kept much smaller in pots. This plant is an excellent choice for beginners or those who are looking for a low-maintenance houseplant. Jade can be grown in a variety of containers, and looks great in hanging baskets, small pots, or larger planters.
Plant Care
Jade prefers bright, indirect light and infrequent watering. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings, and be careful not to over-water the plant, as this can lead to root rot. Jade is also well-suited to a variety of potting soils, but prefers a well-draining mix that is high in sand or perlite.
