Monstera siltepecana
4 inch pot
Monstera siltepecana “El Salvador” is a tropical evergreen native to Central America found in cloud forests on mountain slopes. When immature, the leaves are a beautiful silver green with dark green veins, growing up to 12 inches long. As the plant matures and, if allowed to climb, the leaves become larger and a darker green and can develop deep splits and holes. This plant prefers bright indirect light and should be watered when the top inch of soil is dry. It likes a well-draining potting soil that is high in organic matter. Monstera siltepecana “El Salvador” grows as a vine, so it will need something to climb on or it can be trained to grow up a trellis or pole, and may grow up to approximately 8 feet. It is a striking addition to a houseplant collection.
